At InHealth, we value the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion and we are committed to delivering tangible actions and making positive changes that foster an inclusive culture where everyone feels they belong.

With a dedicated Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy, which encompasses a full action plan and associated policy, our commitment statement underpins our approach to all things ED&I:

Every individual who uses our services, or delivers them, will be treated equally and fairly and have open access to healthcare services and opportunities to progress and develop as a person.

We want everyone who is part of InHealth to feel valued, respected, included and safe.

We know that when it comes to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, it is a continuous journey and we are proud to be making meaningful, positive changes that ensure we are always learning and progressing in the areas that are most important to our colleagues. Some of our achievements include:

SPEAKING UP

Following a Just Culture and providing routes for staff to speak up and feed back, including the ED&I Forum, Staff Partnership Forum, Wellbeing Steering Group, Freedom to Speak Up Guardians, Mental Health First Aiders and our annual Staff Survey.

REPORTING ED&I DATA

Reporting important ED&I data to ensure visibility and accountability, including: the annual Staff Survey with a comprehensive ED&I section, a Gender Pay Gap report and a Workforce Race Equality Standard report.

FOSTERING INCLUSIVITY

Fostering and encouraging staff inclusivity; introducing a volunteering allowance for staff, an events management toolkit that suggests ED&I activities as part of team building and an enhanced induction process for international staff.

AN ED&I FORUM

Establishing a regular ED&I Forum, made up of staff representatives across different areas of the organisation, who meet to discuss and ultimately deliver tangible actions.

LEARNING FROM OTHERS

Joining the 2023/24 ‘Diversity in Health and Care Partners Programme’ from NHS England & NHS Confederation to enhance our ED&I practices.

TRAINING & FOCUS

Improving the range of ED&I training and awareness we offer for all staff, including: mandatory ED&I e-learning, in-person presentations on inclusivity, internal newsletters and fortnightly wellbeing sessions covering a range of ED&I related topics including neurodiversity, mental health and menopause.

Along our journey, we will continue to work on actions that:

ANALYSE

Analyse equality, diversity and inclusion data, to be accountable and visible,

LISTEN

Listen to staff feedback, explore new initiatives and learn from best practice.
